Reading spends a precious commodity: Time. The world is selling great media feeds to scroll through, yet books hold a special place for me. That’s why I started a reading routine.
Each quarter, I read a small selection of books for professional and pleasurable needs. At the end of each quarter, I will tally up what I completed, and what I will continue in the next quarter. January to March, April to June, and so on.
Sharing this holds me more accountable. It’s one more way to gamify positive habits. Whether it’s an exercise note on a calendar, or a nightly digital journal, I can make good habits into good games. I can incentivize sleeping, stretching, writing, eating, pushups, and yes, reading with routines.
